Weston Historical Research and Detectorist Association

WHRADA was formed in 1984 and meets regularly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in Clevedon

We are established to have a maximum of 40 members . The membership secretary maintains a waiting list for those wishing to join. Currently, the waiting list is full and we have no spaces available for new members.

Principle committee members of WHRADA are:

Treasurer (Ann Brownlee)

They are supported in their roles by a number of elected officers forming the remainder of the WHRADA committee.

Lost and found
We offer a lost and found service for anyone in the local area, for example, if you have lost jewellery like rings and earrings.

Please contact us with with any support you need and we can arrange for your lost items to be found.

Here at WHRADA we love to give back through charity donations. We take any extra cash made from our findings and then hold a meeting to decide what charity we will donate to, listed below are the charities we have donated to in 2023, with the link to their website  if you would like to donate yourself.

Be More Ben

Be More Ben was established in 2018 by Shane and Sarah Pritchard following the death of their 8-year-old son, Ben.Be More Ben supports the whole family affected by the death of a child from birth up to the age of 18.

Springboard Opportunity Group (Weston)

Springboard Opportunity Group is a well-established charity. A safe and secure place where children with disabilities are able to learn and flourish. Where different isn’t different and additional needs are not an additional burden, we provide support for families in challenging times.

Jessie May Charity

Jessie May provides specialist nursing care for terminally ill children in their own homes. We offer end of life care and bereavement support, as well as vital respite sessions and emotional support to those children’s families. This allows families to make the most of the precious time they have together and to create treasured family memories.

Other charities supported in previous years include Cancer Research UK, Great Western Air Ambulance, Macmillan Cancer Support, RNLI, Somerset Young Farmers.
